Wiper is mandatory when there are environmental factors blurring cameras’ vision. For instance, construction sites with plenty of sand and dust, places adjacent to water sources, and regions where rainstorms often occur as well as where temperature difference appears extensive resulting condensation occurs frequently. To overcome these unfavorable factors, LonTrend proposes a series of housing models with wiper available in options.

If your projects need to adopt wiper, 2 advices must be taken seriously:

1. Choose a camera housing solution with inherent wiper design

We are frequently consulted by users that they need our support to include wiper in their existing camera housings; unfortunately, this requirement would be hardly realized because the mechanical construction of the housing equipped with wiper always differs from the original one, extending wiper function to existing model becomes an impossible mission. Besides, with improper modification, it may destroy actual IP protection of the model in hand. Therefore, if wiper is required by your projects, please assure to choose right model with –W ordering code.

2. Choose a camera with available function of either “external I/O input” or “RS485 (Pelco D protocol) function”.

Wiper control method can be programmed through two typical methods: dry contact or RS485 (Pelco D protocol).

To adopt dry contact control, the integrated camera must be equipped with external I/O interface with sufficient output current to trigger the wiper correctly through the relay design.

RS485 control method is mandatory required with the camera featuring RS485 and Pelco D protocol support, furthermore, it is highly recommended to adopt a box camera than a compact bullet one because of better space and view angle condition. With this mode, wiper function can be triggered by presets of the camera or through a joystick (LTAK series).

LonTrend wiper solution series

For each LonTrend product line, we provide several models available with wiper function as an option. In extruded-aluminum housing range, LTEG05 containing model options from 12” to 29” dimension is a smart and preferable option; for die-cast aluminum housing, consider LTEV07 and LTEV01. For double window housing, LTEG04 & LTEG07 is recommended. In stainless steel and explosion proof range, LTES07, LTEX17 and ATEX TSAX1730 are the models frequently specified in marine and oil & gas projects. When it comes to pan tilt system, due to environment resistance, whole LonTrend pan tilt systems range are designed with wiper function, such as LTSU01, LTSU05, LTSX03, and LTSX04.

LonTrend washer series

LonTrend also propose LTAW01 and TSAR0100 washer pumps for users envisaging a total solution combing wiper and washer together. LTAW01, constructed with IP66 stainless steel 304, features three available reservoir capacities (5 L/10 L/25 L) and 12 m max delivery head pump. If explosion proof is a necessary condition, TSAR0100 IP68 ATEX washer will be ideal for the projects with requisite of Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21 and Zone 22.
